Description: Vintage Smiths Everest Men's Watch. Clearly marked "Smiths Everest" on the face along with "Shockproof" and "Made in England". 15 Jewel, mid-1960s. Wear and scratches appropriate to the age of the watch. Brand new long fitting strap. This watch has recently been serviced by a qualified watchmaker. The original crystal has been gently polished and the hard chrome case has been cleaned. The watch is in excellent working order, and keeps very good time. The face has distinct patina and watermarks, as can be seen in the photographs (which form part of the description. NB: The photo of the mechanism is exactly the same watch, taken prior to service and strap replacement.). It is your choice as to whether you have this cleaned, repainted or left as is (which would be my suggestion). My on-line research tells me that this watch is probably mid-1960s and carries the standard calibre 60461e movement, possibly marketed as a 404e variation. With a clean face this watch should be around £1500. Hence, my offer price is pitched to account for the patina etc. I am happy to consider offers and will accept returns of the watch in the original condition I send to you, but at your postal expense.
