Vintage Russian Lacquer Hinged Tiny Miniature Detailed Hand Painted Lacquer Box

Description: An exquisitely hand painted and crafted miniature hinged vintage lacquer box with winter scenes of bare trees, moonlight over water, a snow covered cabin, a building, hedges, etc. Very stylized with swirling shaped branches and roots in a palette of black, cream, dusky blue and bronze. On the lid there is a section with what looks like a mother of pearl inset. The designs cover the lid top and sides, and all four sides of the box. The hinge is almost indiscernible. Graduated ivory painted dots decorate the edges of the lid and base. Gently rounded corners. Unsigned. Origin uncertain, assuming Russian, but it could be Asian or Middle Eastern?? A piece of marvelous handcrafted folk art reflecting skill, craftsmanship and traditional motifs in a practical, albeit very small, object...executed with great skill. The inside is lacquer red. Condition is near-perfect. There are some indents on the back around where the hinge is (see photos) but these are not damage, but part of the surface. It has four feet on the base.
