Description: I am offering a collection of 42 Vintage “TV GUIDE” magazines, primarily from 1952-1962, in conditions ranging from Gd to Ex, but mostly VG to Ex. The condition of the magazines will be expressed in photos along with my simplified descriptions (Gd, Vg, Vg/Ex, and Ex). Please examine my photos and make your own evaluation of their worth to you. Each magazine will have 3 photos including the front cover, back cover, and the Table of Contents, to give you as complete a feel for the item as possible. They will be shipped in crystal clear Mylar bags, inside an extra rigid white fiberboard mailer, as quickly as I make the sales. The cover on this particular January 2, 1960 Philadelphia Region issue features the entire cast of the popular Western show "Gunsmoke", in its fifth season of what eventually became a twenty year run (1955-1975). It began on radio in 1952 starring William Conrad, and continued until 1961. The television series ran from September 10, 1955, to March 31, 1975, on CBS, with 635 total episodes. It was only the second Western TV series written for adults. It premiered on September 10, 1955, four days after the Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp. The first 12 seasons aired Saturdays at 10 pm, seasons 13 through 16 aired Mondays at 7:30 pm, and the last four seasons aired Mondays at 8 pm. Set in Dodge City, Kansas during the years following the Civil War, the series follows the lives of U.S. Marshal Matt Dillon and the citizens he is sworn to protect. Among them are his deputies, Chester Goode, town physician Galen “Doc” Adams, and saloon owner, Miss Kitty Russell. Most episodes involve disruptions caused by those arriving from outside Dodge City. This magazine, almost 65years old, is still in Vg condition with all pages intact and no markings inside.
