Description: Here is a long (105”) piece of French hand-embroidered redwork from Alsace. It is scalloped on the bottom edge with button-hole stitching but has not been cut and never used. Motifs include lots of vegetables and fruits : artichokes, onions, carrots, asparagus, grapes, pears. Also included are three fishes, an iconic pattern in this part of France (see my listing of a Souffenheim platter featuring this same design). All cotton. Clean. Measures 105” long, 7" wide.
