Of course we end with blasting and smelting and materials issues. An excellent tome for the beginner or the most experienced smithy or forging specialist. I left the read of this with a greater appreciation for the work that forgers and smithys of the past and present put into their shops and tools to be able to efficiently and competently make the diversity of works they put out. Excellent drawings throughout illustrate exactly how to use the tools and techniques unambiguously and correctly. Clean, clear, crisp drawings make a huge difference. Very nice. Sample exercises provide great projects for smithing and learning and the "how to" drawings of the sample projects from gate latch to making swivels and more demonstrate nicely how a good smithy can manufacture almost anything of metal.
