Vintage CHRIST CHILD Authentic Museum Stone Replica Religious Statue Sculpture

Description: AUTHENTIC COPYRIGHTED REPRODUCTION... VERY RARE!! THE CHRIST CHILD by Desiderio da Settignano, Florentine School, 1428-1464...Made of Alvastone, by Alva Museum Replicas, Inc., New York, believed made 1954 to 1965... the Original Bust was carved of a fine-grained white Marble about 1460 by one of the leading Sculptors of the Italian Renaissance, and is on display in the National Gallery of Art (Kress Collection), Washington, D.C. This is truly an exceptional Bust, in it's as found, as is, not touched up, cleaned or altered, wonderfully preserved, excellent condition for the age, very fine quality and attention to every detail, from the lifelike ears, curves in the hair and distinct facial features, it has some slight rubs/flaking of the smooth matte outer finish coating, adding to it's vintage state, it gives the Sculpture a tone on tone creamy beige, tan or taupe/alabaster color, muted with lighter and darker shading throughout the piece, as you will see in the photos, the main photo is true to the color, I noticed my photo flash made some of the pictures lighter... the Sculpture itself is near perfect... nothing cracked or broken, it has a protective felt bottom, with the Authentication Sticker still attached, as well as the accompanying No. 1008 Authentication Description... very solid and heavy, just absolutely beautiful, it is similarly life sized, with a sweet angelic face, and looks almost like a real child... Replicas were designed by Alva Studios, operated by Alfred Wolkenberg. Alfred was born in Vienna in 1911 and immigrated to the US in 1939. In 1948 he founded Alva Studios of Long Island City, NY. He had many Artists and Designers who were commissioned to produce reproductions of ancient jewelry and sculpture, which were marked Alva Museum Replicas, and sold at museums worldwide.They were famous for their authentic copyrighted reproductions made of Marble, Stone, and Bronze cast Heads and Busts, of Presidents and Iconic Religious Christian Figures such as Jesus Christ. I also found copies of some old Inventory Sales Logs which appear to be from 1954 thru 1960, and show both Names, Alva Studios & Alva Museum Replicas, Inc., at address 140 West 22nd Street, New York, NY... Measurements are approximately 12 1/8" H x 10 1/4" W x 7" D, and it is custom created, so any imperfections are the way it was made...
