Description: (Price Lowered 11/02/2024) We combine shipping to save you $$$... ...so check out our other items! :-) RARE 1930's Aluminum Letter "O" Measures 10in tall, 7.25in wide, and right around 1/2in thick around the edges (thinner on the inside). Front features the remains of original black paint, with obvious wear (scratches, flaking, etc) but overall presents well. Reverse features slider hooks used for sliding the letters on and off a sign (one of the bottom hooks has an edge chipped off...see right side of last photo...can't tell while hanging though), and the following cast statement from the manufacturer: "WAGNER SIGN SERVICE INC.PATENTS U.S. 2048040CAN #366122 - ENG. 451868" (Some of this is hard to read...luckily we have a letter "W" also available and it was easier to read.) Weighs in juuuust under 1 pound. This is the real deal, found in the back of a full service gas station-turned-thrift store off the square in a small town in northeast Texas. Also found (and also available at the time of listing) is the letter W. Now we have no idea how these letters got back there, how long they'd been there, or if additional letters may be found as we continue digging through the back of this building.
