Description: Vintage-Antique Indian Chief Cast Iron Bookends-1920s Jennings Brothers This handsome Jennings Brothers set features American Indian Chief busts in traditional clothing. This cast iron set has the original paint but there is some wear consistent with age and use. Super Heavy almost 9 lbs. In 1891, the Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company began their manufactory in Bridgeport, Connecticut. They continued business into the early 1900s. The company produced some of the finest crafted art metal pieces ever made during this Arts and Crafts time period. Condition: Great Antique Condition, these are rusted, but they look amazing for their age. No cracks, one chief has a defect missing some of the points in the feathers on each side of the hair dress. Educated guess, it happened during the molding process as they are located in the exact opposite sides.
