Performing from the 1930's through the 1950's, Chicago-based Alfredo Cano and Bertha "Rosita" Musquiz played to sold-out houses across the country, including performances in the Spanish and Mexican villages at Chicago's 1933 Century of Progress Exposition / World's Fair. Alfredo Cano left his Mexican ranch in 1922 and moved to Chicago to join his cousins and to study Spanish dance. In 1930 he met Musquiz, a native of San Antonio, Texas. Together, as Alfredo & Rosita, the husband and wife team toured the country for over 20 years. --------------------------------------------- *** This is their personal scrapbook, and contains many items documenting her life before she met Alfredo. Scrapbook measures 10 1/4" x 7" and is filled with hundreds of items documenting their career and travels. Many items are simply tucked inside the album, and not glued or taped in place. The photos attached to this listing show a small sampling of what is included. Again, this is the actual scrapbook, just as it came from Rosita's estate.
