Description: Strombecker Road Racing This is a 1964 Strombecker 1/32 International Road Racing set. This is a very cool vintage piece. The Good: Original box is in good condition for an item this age Original documentation is in excellent shape The power transformer is good, measured 14v on my digital voltmeter The controllers look good All the tiny easily lost pieces are there, the little men, the pylons to make the figure 8, the starter box, track guardrails, and a good number of the pins that hold the track pieces together The track pieces join together easily, there are no broken pieces from being jammed together The Bad: There are no car bodies, despite there being documentation for them One of the cars is missing pieces of the pickup The braid that deliver power to the cars is coming loose from the track. A few hours with 3m Weatherstrip adhesive and a veneer edging iron and it can all be fixed, as the braid is in excellent shape. One piece of track is tough as someone tried to fix it with superglue, ugh! There was no way to test the cars so their condition is unknown The 1/32 stuff - which IMHO produces a much more exciting experience than the HO cars that came later - is going up in price and getting harder to find. Don't pass this one up. Thanks for looking! 73 W8VCK Visit Alan and Darina's EBAY Store About Us We sell antiques, collectables, clothes, oddities, household goods, records, and all sorts of fun things. We're an ordinary couple with full time jobs who love garage sales, auctions, estate sales, consignment stores, and thrift stores. We are always on the hunt for unique, vintage, and beautiful items. Take a look around, our inventory is constantly changing. If you want to get to know us, visit our You Tube Channel The Adventures of Yorksie and Me. Shipping Our items are well-packed, generally in NEW boxes, with plenty of bubble pack and peanuts. We prefer to ship with the post office, offering Priority or Ground service. Modern automated postal handling machines are not kind to fine antiques and collectables, and despite our best efforts at diligent packaging we have had items destroyed, and a few have simply vanished. For this reason, we will not ship any item with a value greater than $25 without adding insurance. As eBay has no way to do this, the insurance is added as a handling fee. Large, heavy items we ship UPS ground. As we live 15 minutes from the nearest UPS store, please be patient with us when purchasing a large, heavy item. Any of our items are available for pickup at our Pinckney Michigan location. If you choose to pickup, either pay on eBay or bring cash, we do not take checks. If the item shows up damaged, destroyed, or doesn't show up at all YOU need to work with us, and the post office (or UPS). We get a lot of complaints about shipping costs. We don't know what shipping cost you were quoted. eBay quotes the shipping cost using post office or UPS API's that return the rates. The rates change frequently. When you purchase the item, we buy the shipping from eBay, print the label, and drop it off to the post office or the UPS store. Please don't ask us to "reduce the shipping cost" - we can't. It is not under our control. Buyers complain that "our shipping cost is high" we aren't marking it up, we are packaging it well. Please don't counteroffer with "X amount including shipping" as we do not know what the shipping cost to your location is. Warranty Nothing we sell is new. These are used items. Everything is sold AS-IS unless explicitly stated otherwise. For electronic items, if they work, will add a video of it working. We sell a lot of vintage electronic items that are 20, 30, 40, and even 80 years old, and they do not take kindly to being shipped. If it worked when it left our store, it worked when it left our store. If it doesn't work, we will clearly state this in the description. Please, if you're buying vintage electronics, READ THE DESCRIPTION. If it says "For Parts or Repair Only", or we indicate we couldn't test it, and it doesn't work when it arrives, it is because it didn't work when it left our store! Please don't demand we return it and threaten us with a negative review because it doesn't work when we told you it didn't. Read the Description, know what you are buying, and everyone will be happy. The days of the Yellow Sheet are over. We have sold amateur and CB radios to people who hooked them up backwards, transmitted without an antenna, dropped them so hard the cases were cracked nearly in half - and then accused us of selling them a broken radio. Be reasonable, communicate with us, we'll do our best to make everybody happy if you are honest with us. For Amateur Radio gear that transmits, we do not offer any returns.
