Card condition: Card back is upside down, card has marks on back, dated 1918, postmark obscured, card has corner wear, and creases in left top and bottom. This card is a D.P.O. The Barview post office operated from 1909-1956. The post office operated until June 15, 1956. Its closure could have been due to a decline in the local population or the consolidation of postal services with nearby towns as transportation and communication improved. The Villa Campground in Barview, Oregon, was a well-known and popular destination for tourists and campers in the mid-20th century. Located near Tillamook Bay and the Pacific Ocean, it offered visitors a scenic and convenient location for enjoying the natural beauty of the Oregon coast.
