Description: Up for sale is a Very Rare, TRUE First Edition/First Printing of To The Actor: On The Technique Of Acting by Michael Chekhov. With a Preface by Yul Brynner. Drawings by Nicolai Remisoff. TRUE First Editions of this Title are Scarce and Becoming Increasingly Hard to Find!! ALL First Edition Points Present!! Michael Chekhov, Legendary Teacher, Actor, Director and nephew of the great Anton Chekhov!! Hardcover with its original, First State dust jacket, NOT price-clipped! Original price of $3.00. Published by Harper & Brothers: New York, 1953. A TRUE First American Edition/First Printing/First State with ALL First Edition Points present! Unfortunately, this rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible wear, but when considering its' scarcity and desirability, is still in Highly Desirable, Highly Collectible condition! The wear, however, is EXTENSIVE and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. While the dust jacket is in rather nice condition, the book itself has SUBSTANTIAL wear! Some general/shelf wear along with... Creases/wear to the spine/boards, particularly noticeable near/along the edges. Marks/creases/wear to the pages. Numerous sentences/words on quite a few pages have been highlighted! There are also highlights/marks on the margins! Please also note the large marks on both the front and rear pastedowns and on both the first and final blank pages! Along with the marks, there is a sticky residue, (similar to what one would see when removing large pieces of tape). The sticky residue causes both of the pages, along with the inside jacket flaps, to stick together. They can be separated but the wear should noted. The unfortunate wear to the pages is, in our opinion, the most egregious wear affecting this book. Once again, we want to repeat that there is extensive highlighting and very large marks on numerous pages and the wear is considerable! All of the wear previously mentioned is VERY clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. The original, First State dust jacket is fully intact and NOT price-clipped! Some general/shelf wear along with creases, scuffing, rips and marks. Please note the wear on the spine, at the corners and near/along the edges! The wear, particularly near/along the edges, is very clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration and if this copy was in better condition our asking price would be considerably higher. We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. Once again, we want to reiterate that the wear to both the book and the dust jacket is considerable and VERY clearly visible! The wear to the book itself is EXTENSIVE/SUBSTANTIAL! All of the wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection. Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!! Payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
