Description: The 17th series Thai banknote was designed to circulate in the reign of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun. The theme of this series banknotes is "The Chakri Dynasty". This 100-baht banknote was launched on 6th April, 2018. Observe: The main colour of the banknote is red. The image of King Maha Vajiralongkorn Bodindradebayavarangkun is in the right middle. The Garuda image is at the top right. And the Thai government words are at the left middle. Reverse: The main picture at the middle is the image of the King Rama 5 and King Rama 6 that surrounded by images that reflect Their Majesty King's greatness. Brief insight to why certain King Rama X banknotes are valued more than others The Governor of the Bank of Thailand' GBT has a five-year term of not more than two consecutive terms. The 'Minister of Finance' MOF nominates a candidate to the Thai Cabinet. When the cabinet passes a resolution approving the candidate, it then presents it to the monarch for approval. Recent Factors: Mr. Predee Daochai (Born 9th of September 1958) served as Minister of Finance for 26 days in the second cabinet of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha. In September 2020, he resigned as MOF. His decision to resign caused repercussions within the printing industry: Mr. Veerathai Santiprabhob, GBT; Mr. Veerathai Santiprabhob stayed in office until the 30th of September 2020.
