Superior Vintage 1940s Celestial Embroidered Beading Rayon Dress Bust 38-40

Description: In a word: superior, dressmaking , that is. Though no label appears, this 1940s blue beauty is rayon (crepe, I think) weighted fabric for drape and embroidered with tiny blue sequins (see final photos of construction). The result is a gown Van Gogh might have dubbed, "Starry Night." Portrait neckline, fuller bodice eased into the waistline, interior waist binding, side metal zipper, long sleeves with pointed zippered hems, full flowing skirt completely lined beneath in rustling twilight taffeta. Truly majestic gown, beautifully designed and constructed. Excellent vintage condition with no structural damage to note. (This fabric is substantial). Dress measures: bust to 38-40 (max), waist 30, hips 38-40, shoulder to shoulder 18, sleeve length from shoulder 23, length 50. Hem sweep is 84.
