Description: Emindio Mele immigrated from Italy to the United States in 1896 as a young boy. As he grew older he worked and learned the trade of making jewelry boxes. Later he formed his own company “Mele” and produced a box with an automatic tray. Macy’s listed a Mele jewelry box as one of the ten best Christmas gifts. Later he went on to manufacture the iconic ballerina musical jewelry boxes (among many other styles.) I’ve researched this little thing and couldn’t find any information on it.
