Description: One of the rages today is steampunk! This is all about combining symbols and aesthetics from the industrial revolution and Victorian age with modern day technology. This pen is all about capturing this combination. It combines a modern Parker style writing utensil with the looks of the early industrial age. With a smooth bolt-action mechanism to extend and retract the refill, this pen is a joy to use. The pen includes flat head screws riveted tubing, Gatling gun motif at both ends of the pen, a bullet cartridge at the writing end, and the Gatling gun look at the top end of the pen. Pipe and fitting styling on both the bolt and clip complete the classic look of this new style. One of the endearing things of steampunk is the mixture of old and new. To that end, the metals of the pen may have small flaws or dings. If present, they are simply part of the process of making the kits. If I notice them when making the pen I will note them in the listing. Replacing the ink refill is as simple as unscrewing the "bullet", removing and replacing the refill, and reassembling the pen. The center portion of the pen is made from a piece of Bethlehem Olive wood. This fits the old meets new motif of steampunk and blends nicely with the copper and brass of the metals. The wood was hand-turned, sanded to 600 grit, and finished with sanding sealer then friction polish in my shop. The metals of the pen are a mixture of copper and brass.
