STAR WARS Insert Poster 1982 Video Promo Release RARE

Description: Authentic insert poster for the original Star Wars movie from 1982 (see below explanation). 14''x36'' Pin holes in all four corners and a little bit of edge wear in a few spots.There is a slight paper peel and non-sticky masking tape staining on the reverse that does not affect the image. The shmutz seen in the upper right corner of the poster has been removed, as seen in the last photos. This poster is often mistakenly represented as "original". The LUCASFILM LTD 1977 tag is a giveaway. "All ownership rights related to Star Wars were transferred to Lucasfilm in 1979 as a condition of Fox's negotiations with LFL to distribute The Empire Strikes Back. So, beginning in late 1979, all items that originally carried the Fox copyright reverted to Lucasfilm, which explains why these standees (and similar posters) say "Lucasfilm" instead of "Twentieth Century Fox". The Fox language at the very bottom of the standee is likely the distributor's copyright. The Jung artwork, however, was now under the ownership of Lucasfilm. In 1982, Fox Video re-purposed the style A poster artwork extensively, contracting the National Screen Service to reprint the insert, one-sheets, and standees with the Lucasfilm copyright. It is still quite rare, over 40 years old, on the same type of paper as all inserts at the time. One that was properly listed and described recently sold for over $250.
