Description: Super rare, incredible antique Slingerland snare. It still is usable and sounds quite nice. Being as old as it is, it has some issues. It is not very in round. The top head I believe is original and that wasn’t difficult to put on. Getting the new bottom snare side head on was hard. I had to use a small hammer on the metal sides of the head to get it around the drum. Once on it tuned up well. The re rings have a lot of seperation. Screws were added to them at one point On both the top and bottom. That being said there are much positives. Strainer, butt plate, lugs, t rods, hoops and mute are all original to the drum. There no extra holes in the shell. (One small screw and washer for mounting a side of one of one of the pieces of the strainer assembly. Does not affect drum or functionality in any way, as there are two others on that side holding it on the shell perfectly fine. The butt plate is also missing a screw on the side. Again, doesn’t affect functionality of the drum. The wrap is tight at the seam, but shows much wear and fading and blemishes over the years. I personally love the patina!
