This should only be purchased with knowledge that there are areas of paint that have been chipped that have been nicked that or exposing bare wood, basically shabby chic or unrestored classical design. The colors of the piece are absolutely beautiful in person. As well as the crisp clean carvings in solid wood. Twin headboards can always be placed side-by-side to make a king size width for a mattress. Bought from a Palm Beach Estate sale 15 years ago. I do not know the type of wood underneath the paint or the age of the item, but certainly identified as antique. Age of production unknown. Was purchased with intention of using it as a daybed.
