Rare Vintage Minton Argyle Crimson Red Fine China Dinner Plate 27cm H5310

Description: Minton China Dinner Plate Dimensions are approximately: diameter: 27cms (10 3/4" ins) This rare china dinner plate was produced by prestigious English china company Minton. The plate is decorated with the much sought after Argyle pattern in Crimson. This is one of Minton's famous 'G' and 'H' patterns of heavily gilded and encrusted 22-karat raised paste gold gilding. Minton was known to have the best gold gilders and plates of this complexity were gilded by master gilders, leaving their initial on the back. This plate has the initial K. Beautifully hand decorated with a neo classical floral and foliate pattern on a wide crimson band. The plate well and rim are further enhanced with a gold design of beaded quatrefoil. Intricate decorated panels enhance the outer band. The Argyle pattern was also produced in Green, Blue and Ivory colourways. A more recent name for this pattern is Sky Island but it is better known by its earlier name.. Argyle. A stunning item and a 'must have' for your collection... As the years pass, these lovely china items become more precious... pieces are damaged, lost or collections are broken up. The good news for collectors is that quality pieces should not only hold their value but increase over time. Condition:In excellent vintage condition commensurate for age. A teeny tiny black spot close to the inner band. One very fine utensil scratch just to the off centre.. it is fine and not overly noticeable. The plate has a small imperfection to the centre in a dimple form. Neither affects the presentation of the plate. Magnificent colour, pattern and trim. No chips, crazing, fractures or discolouration.
