Rare Franklin Mint House of Faberge The Imperial Chess Set Egg; NO Pieces

This item was purchased in 2016 at a closing of the Franklin Mint archives. Pretty much every sample of what Franklin Mint produced was stored there. These were not the customer returns, but new open products with some shelf wear and nearly all with no packaging. Some were explicitly market as PQS (Production Quality Sample). Some where one of a kind items, others Artist proof or or prototype. For your buying pleasure – I am offering a highly valued Franklin Mint House of Faberge The Imperial Miniature Chess Egg Set. This set was released in 1990s. Some details about the set can be found in the last images (not included, but could be sent via a message). Place it on display and enjoy it now or put aside for future as an investment! Comes as pictured - nothing else! Please see images! As it was part of Franklin Mint Museum / Archives, there is a possibility that this egg varies slightly from the actual eggs produced. I didn't notice any difference Included - the egg - bottom half - base with the drawer and the board, top half dome, top - the king with the tweezers. Not included - original chess pieces.Optional Free Extra - I give FREE new pieces. They are suitable, but NOT an ideal replacement. These pieces are similar in height and color to the originals. These are NOT the original and do NOT have pegs, so will NOT be inserted securely into the board. You may use a wax or something similar that is easy to remove to secure the pieces to the board. These pieces are for decoration only and included FREE with no guarantees. May NOT be a complete set, even though I will try to make sure. Condition - kept in FM archive, almost 30 years old, there could be some age wear, looks to be free of damage and no missing gemstones. Could be cleaned and polished to restore shine. The board looks good. The felt in the drawer looks good. The dome has felt inside. The top King has little gemstones. Note - I do not see any missing gemstones. I want to make sure you are aware that upon opening of the package you may find that one or more of the gemstones had separated from the egg. I have an example in one of the images. This is NOT considered to be a damage. The gemstones were originally glued to the egg. So, after nearly 30 years it is not unexpected to have them separate. I will place the egg (top and bottom separately) into Ziplock bags. So, even if some gemstones separate, you should be able to find them and re-attach with tiny drop of glue. Please examine the egg carefully before discarding the packages. NO returns / refunds are offered due to separated or lost gemstones. This is a vintage collectable and there could be some OTHER signs of age wear. The EGG is SOLD AS IS and buyer understands and agrees that during the transit minor issues could occur - for example something could separate. As long as you do not throw the packaging and find the part, you can easily re-attach it with a drop of super glue. The egg will be boxed and fully insured. If the box arrives damaged, the insurance claim could be filed. Local pickup is highly encouraged for special saving. International buyers - eBay Global will take care of you in case of damages as the package could be opened by customs for inspection.
