Description: eBay requires all graded cards (from all grading services) valued at $250.00 or higher to be sent to a certified "eBay Authenticity Guarantee" authenticator. According to the eBay information page, a representative from PSA (Professional Sports Authenticator) will authenticate the item. They will verify that the encapsulated holder is authentic and has no evidence of tampering. The authenticator will inspect the item within one to two business days after receiving it. Once authenticated, the item will be shipped directly to the buyer with four-day or less tracked delivery. The process is intended to add an extra layer of security for both buyer and seller, but unfortunately, it does increase the amount of time it takes for customers to receive their items. We apologize for the delay, but eBay does not give us the option of whether or not to use this service. We will ship item within 1-business day of purchase to authenticators to be verified and forwarded to the purchaser in a secure and timely manner. INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS - PLEASE NOTE: S+H charges do NOT include any additional international fees, duties or taxes, which can range from 10-15% above the final purchase price. All international fees, duties and taxes for this item required by the Postal Service before delivery will be the sole responsibility of the buyer. Thank you. A PSA graded NM 7 - 1951 Berk Ross card of Hall of Famer Whitey Ford of the New York Yankees. While not considered to be a "true" RC by some collectors, this card was released in the same year as Ford's "official" rookie card #1 that was released in the 1951 Bowman Baseball set. Berk Ross released Hit Parade of Champions sets in 1951 and 1952. The 1951 set is similar in size to the 1948-1950 Bowman issues for baseball, basketball and football. The 1951 series features athletes from a variety of different sports - including baseball, basketball, boxing, football, golf and other sports. The cards were originally distributed in boxed "packs" containing 2-card panels that were perforated in the middle so the cards could be separated. Because the cards had to be "torn apart" to be separated, it is somewhat difficult to find nicer condition examples. The 1952 issue is similar in size to the 1951-1952 Bowman baseball and football issues. 1952 Berk Ross set features baseball players only. This card has no creasing, bold printing, nice focus, good color and clean borders. All four corners have some light wear, but they are consistent with those found on most NM Berk Ross examples. The printing on the front is shifted slightly to the top and to the left, but the card still displays well. There is a very light amount of toning on the borders (not uncommon with this issue), but it does not detract too much from the overall eye appeal of the card. The printing on the back is shifted to the left and there is a tiny discoloration above the letter "T" in the word "HIT" on the upper left portion of the card, but otherwise the back clean with bold printing. Even with the flaws, this is a still nice looking card for the grade. Thank you for looking and check out our other eBay Buy It Now and Auction Items in our eBay Store! This card would be a great addition to any collection!
