Description: This is an fine example of Wagner Ware's "Square Skillet" that was produced sometime in the 1960s. This skillets yields an 8-1/4" square cooking surface that is in fantastic condition. While the cooking surface for these pan were never polished after they came out of the mold, it is extremely smooth to the touch. Two sheets of printer paper slipped under one edge of the bottom stops movement on a granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs and does not spin.Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
