Pelikan Maki-e Seven Treasures M1000 - Fountain pen (piston mechanism) Limited

Description: Maki-e is a long-established Japanese art of creating delicate images that are sprinkled on various objects. Thanks to the use of a specially prepared Urushi varnish, which is obtained from the resin of lacquer trees growing in Asia and filings of various precious metals, it is possible to reproduce time-consuming and reverent motifs. Mastering the art of Maki-e and its numerous techniques requires many years of intensive training. Throughout the film, we observe the famous Japanese master Mushu Yamazaki in his fascinating work and we are involved in the impressive process of creating the precious Pelikan pen. All Pelikan fountain pens made by hand using the Maki-e technique are unique works of art. The properties of the varnish are unique. Despite the solid consistency, the hardened varnish retains great flexibility, which protects it permanently against the formation of scratches. In this way, the Pelikan fountain pen retains the details of decoration even after many years. Meet the limited edition of the Maki-e Seven Treasures “Seven treasures are mentioned in the Buddhist scriptures. The typical seven treasures are gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, giant clam, coral, and agate. Seven treasures are depicted on this M1000 Pelican as auspicious omen motives by drawing additional lucky items. This makes the Pelikan Maki-e "Seven Treasures" fountain pen a collection of symbols that are believed to bring good luck. “Seven treasures are mentioned in the Buddhist scriptures. Pelikan's artists combined the traditional Japanese Togidashi-Taka-Maki-e (Burnished-Raised Maki-e), a combination of Taka-Maki-e and Togidashi-Maki-e techniques, with the German craftsmanship contained in the M1000. Compared to other Maki-e techniques, a deeper three-dimensional appearance is possible. The feather motif represents the seven treasures of Buddhist scriptures, including gold, silver, lapis lazuli, crystal, giant clam, coral and agate. Gold is a bright, slightly reddish yellow, dense, soft, malleable and malleable metal. Its relative rarity in the environment has made it a precious metal used for coins, jewelry, and art, in addition to industrial applications. Silver is a soft, white, shiny transition metal that has the highest electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reflectance of any metal. It is more abundant than gold, and it is also a precious metal. Lapis lazuli is a deep blue metamorphic rock used as a semi-precious stone. It is valued for its intense blue color and is used in jewelry, as well as the best and most expensive blue pigments. The crystal has a highly ordered microscopic structure, creating a lattice that extends in all directions. It is valued for both its artistic uses and purported healing properties. The giant clam is considered a rare organic gem, sometimes referred to as "the jade of the sea". It is believed that in some cultures, they can help ward off evil and protect the health of families. The red coral, scientifically called Corallium rubrum, has a dark red color and lives on a rocky seabed. Due to its slow growth, it is rich in nutrients, including calcium, for which it is often ground into a powder for use in oriental medicine. It is said to have cooling, detoxifying, calming properties and may help heal damaged bones. Agate is a rock formation consisting of chalcedony and quartz, and comes in a wide variety of colors. Agate has been used in both art and industry, prized for its appearance and intrinsic properties. The Maki-e Seven Treasures comes with Pelikan's standard 18C-750 two-color gold nib in an M Medium width. The pen includes a gold-plated bow clip, two bands, two decorative rings on the piston knob, and a single decorative ring on the parts. There is a single company logo on the cap which is placed over a background that matches the overall appearance of the pen. The ink view window that is behind the section has a dark green tint. Like other such releases, the pen will be packed in a traditional Japanese gift box made of paulownia wood. Limited: 123 pieces The pen has a piston system.
