This Set, Limited To 250, Includes a Hand Signed and Numbered Cover Sheet, Signed by Dave Cockrum. Set is #97 of 250 Sets. Artwork Was Printed on Cream Colored, Rag Stock and Depicts Different Characters and Art Topics, Including Comic and Fantasy Art. David Emmett "Dave" Cockrum (November 11, 1943 - November 26, 2006) was an American comic book artist known for his co-creation of the new X-Men characters Nightcrawler, Storm, and Colossus. Cockrum was a prolific and inventive costume designer who updated the uniforms of the Legion of Super-Heroes. He did the same for the new X-Men and many of their antagonists in the 1970s and early 1980s. Dave Cockrum worked with both DC and Marvel, and on titles ranging from Superman to Batman to X-Men and much more in between. Sketches Included Are Titled:1. THE SAGE 2. MARINA AND SPIRO 3. Set Consists of The First Set of 10 Different Sketches Done By Dave Cockrum in 1973. Set Was Done Only 3 Years After He Turned Pro in 1970. Plates Are Approx. 9-7/8" Wide x 13" High. Set is Complete and Has Nice Edges and Corners. There Are Small Impressions on The Top Center of Image #1 From The Clasp on The Envelope, which it was stored in and is included. The Black Lagoon Creature Plate Has a Light Pressure Mark on Left Edge (See Pic) and The Captain Marvel Jr. Was Printed on a Plate With a Vertical Wrinkle on Bottom Center (See Pic). The Sketches Were Kept in Their Original Envelope Since Being Produced in 1973, Stored Away From Light and Only Removed Now to Take Images. The manila envelope which they came in has some light rust spots on the rear clasp and has caused a light pressure mark and some coloring to the top of the first plate on the top center. The envelope has some light signs of handling on edges and corners, along with some light toning and spotting. This is a Difficult Set To Find is Any Condition, Let Alone, One as Nice as This One.
