It is an orbicular silicated rhyolite in earthy colors of browns, greens, and oranges, and often contains pockets of quartz. Mushroom Jasper was named for it's earthy colored orbs which resemble the cap of a mushroom. It is a material that takes a nice polish. This can be used lapidary to make cabochons, or polished and used as a display specimen. Dimensions are approximately 4.8" x 3" (see photos) and 6.8mm thick.
