Misfits – Famous Monsters USED picture disc 1st press import 1999

Description: You are buying a used/play tested Famous Monsters by Misfits. This is the 1999 Roadrunner Records 1st pressing made in the Netherlands (the better sounding but costlier Japanese version would come out the year after). Released during the low point of records, they only made 5,000 for it's world wide release. Which sounds like a lot but there are many more members of "the fiend club" and who knows how many survived. I listed the record as excellent as I spotted a bit of non-fill on the first track. However, I didn't find this to affect playback. To be honest though, as with most picture discs I found this to be noisy, which is mainly why I've decided to sell. The sound floor isn't unbearable as these loud punk tunes tend to bully those nasty Rice Krispies, but I just have no love for picture discs. I like my records same as my coffee ya know! Still very cool from a historical perspective, IMO an under rated album, and plays great as long as you don't expect audiophile sound. The record comes in it's original PVC sleeve but was protected by one of those round Japanese style inners. I see lots of examples here where that isn't the case and if you have a vinyl record touching it that is how the dreaded PVC off gasing happens (i.e. high temp/humidity cause the two chemically similar things to merge). Item will be shipped in a record mailer with a plastic sleeve to help prevent seam splits and "fragile" stickers. Considering the high price this goes for I will make extra sure it is packaged securely and you may have to sign for delivery (this prevents porch theft and dropped/stepped on packages).
