Minor rust, some gold accents have worn away, original patina. Is in very good, used condition commiserate with age. No maker's mark. This wonderful door stop features a standing lion and his shield. After much research this fabulous piece dates from approximately 1870. It looks like it is cast iron with a black paint with gold accents. This appears to be original except for the added stabilizing bar attached (removeable) on the back.
