I am retaining the former name on all sizes of this shape since the floral punch art books all use the former name of this shape in their material lists. This is the Large Size Ume/Plum Blossom punch by the Punch Bunch. It is a regular plunger style punch that is open on the underside so you can see exactly where you are punching. This shape measures 1 1/4 inch across. This large size punch punches out the shape shown in Black in the photo above. The Ume flower punch is another essential in a paper artists work box. The Ume has only 5 petals whereas the more common flower shape has 6 petals. With only a little shaping it makes a wonderful looking flower to add to your quilling projects. Use a smaller cupped shape, beads, or any other kind of center to this little flower shape. It makes nice filler flowers for almost any kind of arrangement. It is shown here with the other sizes available for comparison. The black one is the large size and the others are the small and the medium. The flower is made with the medium size and has an small sakura as a center. Remember, whatever you can do with one size shape can be done with the others but will be simply be proportionally larger or smaller. Large punches are commonly sized at or near 1 inch to 1 1/2 inch, either length or height. Large punch shapes are often used alone or as a base to build larger flowers. They also are often used as centers for other punch shapes. If you do scrapbooking, quilling, punchart, or card crafting, these punches will add a lot to your art projects. These punches are most versatile as they can be used on their own to create floral designs or can be used in conjunction with other shapes or just as flower centers. The punched shapes can be used flat to create flowers for scrapbooking or can be molded slightly with a stylus to create realistic looking flowers for cards or to add as filler flowers to quilling. When molding the large shapes it is best to use the white molding tool stylus, such as the one I sell in my store. These punches can also be used to create interesting borders when punched along the edges of cards. All the punches I sell are brand new; however I do open them and punch one or two shapes to make sure they work properly.
