Ladies Secretary Desk -Def.VINTAGE, ”Possibly A Antique” ?Restoration Project?

Description: This is a desk restoration project ,,started & not (“ Quite Finished) ;) Tons of dirt and mildew and stains were successfully removed & the finish was pretty good with a half an inch of liquid gold applied ..:-) That’s where the restoration project needs to be picked up and finished by someone who has a “passion “ for this !! the drop-down, what I call writing surface has the original chains on each side, so it drops down like a drawbridge! One of the brackets has broke that is one area that needs to be addressed the bottom three drawers need guides installed for easy opening and closing. As far as refinishing that’s totally up to you I should’ve done a before and after picture I did a four hour clean up on it to get it to look like it does so I could take decent pictures!!! I can work very closely with the buyer on the shipping cost. Disassembly is no problem please view the pictures very closely and reach out to me.! This is my mothers desk, that she sat in front of every Morn.for as long as I can remember ,dropped down the drawing board platform with the original chains and meticulously in almost an OCD Manor wrote all kinds of notes .The morning.routine,along with opening cabinets & making a lot of noise… 😊… what I thought was a pain in the ass. I miss so much now as I do her.!! I think in hindsight this was her therapy ,,& maybe would have been an great accountant.! By all means ;) First, she called the bank and made notes of the checking account. Bal. !! If it was a penny off, she found out why!,,!! This ( what I believe is called ) A Secretary Desk is A Family heirloom,thought to be of the old style like the Larkin Soap Co. out of Buffalo N.Y. Or the Chautauqua line. Whatever ,, it is a unique and timeless piece that will add character to any room. With its rich brown color and Oak wood material, this desk is a perfect fit for those who appreciate antique and Victorian styles. Probably a product of the Larkin soap company? From the research I can gather out of Buffalo New York. The front mail slots and cubbyholes are hidden ,As the front face drops down with the two original chains on each side for a flat “Desk Area Drawing Board Surface” very cool! Although this awesome piece is in relatively good condition for its age, the restoration process has been started but unfortunately will not be able to be finished , as to time restraints . Just needs a little more TLC!!!
