Description: Hard to find plate from H.L. Neuman's, a York, PA based ice cream manufacturer, located at 15 South Newberry Street.Mr. Neuman served in the Civil War and after returning to Pennsylvania, he started in the confectionary business and later, ice cream. His ice cream was served to Civil War veterans in Gettysburg on July 4, 1913. In 1930, the company was sold to Borden's. Maddock of Trenton, NJ manufactured this 5 1/2 inch plate on its American China body in 1900-1912, according to the impressed backstamp. H.L. Neuman's Ice Cream is in green with matching green stripes. No chips or cracks. Moderate utensil use. Some age spotting around the rim. Thanks for looking! We ship US Priority Mail ONLY!
