This machine is made by G&T in Germany, which is very valuable.G&T stands for GRAMOPHONE & TYPEWRITER Co. The sound box is also GRAMOPHONE original. (This is an antique item only.) This Monarch is a very rare model.G&T (Victor of England) had branches in Germany, France, Austria, Belgium, Russia, and Spain at that time. G&T exported basic components to each branch, and wooden cabinets were produced in small batches according to each country's unique design. The number of existing Victor phonographs is very small, but the number of phonographs produced by European companies is even smaller. The unique design of this model was also produced in small batches, and it is often sold at a higher price than the common American Victor phonographs with wood horns. At the time, the parts necessary for a phonograph to function, such as the spring motor, sound box, back bracket, tone arm, and trumpet, were exported from the U.S. to the U.K. to European companies, so the cost of getting the parts to European companies must have been enormous. Therefore, Victor's products in Europe were top of the line! HMV's earliest and finest phonographs had a round celluloid-coated recording angel embedded in the top of the cabinet. The serial plate also remains on the top of the cabinet. Both (plate and celluloid) are often missing. The 8-inch turntable produced thin plate type for less than two years, and a valuable small tone arm and small elbow were also used. The wonderful hand-carved cabinet is also unparalleled! It is more elaborate than the G&T Senior Monarch, Victor D or Monarch Special. This cabinet is even more elaborate than the G&T Senior Monarch, Victor D, and Monarch Special cabinets! It is believed that less than 2,000 units were produced. The production number of the famous Victor No. 6 in the U.S. was 17468 units, but it is difficult to obtain nowadays, so this German Monarch is an unobtainable item due to its small production number. There are probably only one or two of these in Japan, including our G&T, but you may not be able to find one of this high quality anywhere in the world!
