Description: The graceful and essential 1951 Hamilton GROVER!No mid-century vintage Hamilton collection is complete without this landmark design by Hamilton. The GROVER is where Hamilton design conservatism met a daring lug design for executive watches in its time. Transitional in design, this styling was ushering in the daring and wild 1950's. This example is exceptional for the Grover model, given the prominent horned lugs design elements which are commonly prone to terrible wear. You'll not see that in this wonderful example! This watch faces up beautifully with its subtle barrel shape and crisp dial with matte contrasting minute track. Gold Arabic numerals contrast against the rich Butler silver dial. Dial is very nice, showing only the lightest areas of honest age (see photos). A very thin line of case back edge wear (see photos) but balance of case beautiful indeed. Balance of case very nice, showing only the lightest evidence marks of honest and careful and occasional use over its almost 75 years on the Planet Earth. Faint inscription on back. Acrylic crystal clear, and without distraction. Measuring 37 mm from lug tip to lug tip, and 24mm wide on its graceful barrel shaped case giving way to the dimensional horned lug element, the Grover was a classy executive Mid-Century watch design for sure. Hamilton quality!
