They are the oldest trees on earth. Fossils of leaves have been found with dinosaur fossils. Ginko trees are very beautiful and grow symmetrical. The leaves are bright yellow in the fall and also have many therapeutical uses.The sex of a Gingko is nearly impossible to tell until they mature. Therefore most people plant several seed and evaluate in a few years. The trees do well in a variety of climates and can reach a height 50 - 80 feet, but also make very interesting bonsai trees. Gingkoes are sun loving to partial shade and can tolerates a variety of soils. They are often found in city landscapes and are able to adapt to most any environment.
