Description: Here, we have a letter dated Oct. 23, 1895 hand written by George W. Cable. The letter, to L.A. Weeks, is a response the idea received "proposing the dramatization of 'John March'". Mr. Cable has concerns about Mr. Weeks experience in dramatization and confusion about his name: Luke? The letter is written on double page letter paper with the personal letterhead of "George W. Cable Dryad's Green Northampton Massachusetts". I can find no record that the popular book "John March, Southerner" was ever made into a play. Yes, the letter and signature are authentic, as inspected by my antiquarian book seller. This is in excellent condition, still crisp and clean with only a few wrinkles from long storage. Please view my photographs for more description. My friend who collects everything, is starting to part with a few of his treasures, aren't you glad? I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping.
