At night Crionas drew portraits of California celebrities to further his career. In World War II, Crionas designed and painted emblems and insignia for the nose sections of B-29's. "Best known for the very human qualities his clown portraits, Crionas also depicted scenes of gamblers and street scenes. The artist used oil, acrylic paint as well as etching, serigraphy and lithography." Crionas is listed in Edan Hughes book Artists in California 1786-1940.
