Ceratozamia miqueliana is a rare and very showy Mexican cycad from tropical wet forests in Veracruz, southern Tabasco, and northwestern Chiapas states. It has been in cultivation in US collections for many decades but is now considered Endangered in nature. It is the most commonly cultivated species of a handful of closely related, highly desirable SE Mexican and northern Central American cycads known for their long, glaucous blue or greenish blue leaves with thin-textured but very wide leaflets. The division offered for sale is a well rooted offset taken as part of a series from a trio of select mature seed-grown (from cultivated sources) male plants I own that have exceptional leaf form and color. Easy under warm, shady conditions. The leaves attain large sizes over a five to eight year time span but are manageable in conservatories, sunrooms, and shady subtropical patios until full maturity. Has been grown outside under shade in Florida and southern California but does require protection from freezes. All plants offered are greenhouse grown on benches in the San Francisco Bay Area, California. Shipping: Plants will be shipped via USPS Priority Mail with tracking number for physical addresses within three working days of receipt of payment, weather permitting. 72 hour heat packs are available for an additional nominal charge. Wherever possible, plants will be shipped in plastic pots. If bare-rooting is required for shipment to your state, please advise when auction is completed.
