Buddy Lee Necklace Church Pendant Sterling Silver & Hachita Turquoise Hand Made

Description: This spectacular necklace and pendant were finely handcrafted by Buddy Lee Mossman. These two pieces were made to be worn together but as the pendant is detachable they can be worn separately. The bail on the top of the pendant is a hook that slips over the large center jump ring. We purchased a number of pieces of his work in Santa Fe, NM approx. 25 years ago. The neck piece consists of 3 strands of sterling silver oblong link chain that is attached to a single length of chain. The hook closure fits into the chain links making it adjustable. In the center is a stunning bezel set Hachita turquoise cabochon. At the bottom of the bezel is another soldered ring that the pendant hooks onto. The cabochon (not including the bezel) measures approx. 44mm long x 25mm across at the widest width. Mined in New Mexico, Hachita turquoise mining activity dates from pre-historic to 1905. This lovely green / blue color is typical and completely natural. It is shown without the pendant and would be lovely worn as is or with another pendant of your choice. The sterling silver church is a SW style and measures 2.625" (2 5/8") wide x 2.5" high from the base to the top of the roof. Complete with a cross and a (silent) bell it is a dimensional piece as shown in the photos. It is shown detached and can be easily worn on a different necklace if desired. Every piece was handcrafted in sterling silver including the jump rings, chain, cones and clasp. The overall length of the entire necklace is approx. 30". This unique set is signed, copyrighted and stamped sterling on the pendant as shown above. As it is a set only the pendant piece was signed. The silver is in good condition but does contain some of the very thin little scratches that sterling silver is prone to. Especially older pieces like these. Buddy Lee Mossman was an iconic craftsman who created artistic jewelry pieces for many years. His work was often whimsical and his finely crafted one of a kind silver creations usually contained unique gemstones and fossils. His work is collected worldwide and especially known in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Buddy Lee Mossman passed away in 2018.
