BMW 501/502 "Tiny Giant Series" SSS International Tin Friction Japan 1950's

Description: This very rare and scarce vintage BMW 501/502 "Tiny Giant Series" by SSS International (Shioji Company) Tin Friction toy is a must-have for collectors of vintage and antique toys. Made of tin and manufactured in Japan in the 1950s, the brand SSS International, is well-known for its high-quality and detailed toy cars with intricate designs. This particular model is a great example. The car is clean, has never been played with by children as it was owned by an adult collector. It has shiny glossy black paint, a friction motor that work very well, rubber tires with white walls that roll smoothly and are in alignment. The suspension is excellent. There is no rust anywhere. It has a green lithographed interior with detailed dash and a raised steering wheel. The words "Made In Japan" can be seen printed on the inside of the rear looking in the back windshield. There is no makers mark. The back plate says "BMW" and is present. The axles are covered with the shiny base plate. The toy has been well-preserved and is in near mint/excellent shape for age of nearly 74 years, making it a great addition for anyone looking to add a vintage toy car to their collection. Displays gorgeously! It has a couple of barely seen light dings on the roof, couple of very tiny chips to the paint. It comes from the exceptional collection and estate of Mr. Dwight Bidwell of Nashville, Tn., who bought it new, a 100% smoke and pet free home, making this a healthy and allergy free choice for your home and family.
