Description: Antique Wave Crest biscuit/Cracker Barrel glass jar made by C.F. Monroe Co., circa 1890-1910. This jar doesn't have it's original fancy metal lid with handle, but an alternative, much more informal metal beanie-type lid has an aged patina. Beautiful jar with pale blue, white, pink, green, yellow coloration over a creamy opal milk glass base. See around top rim of jar where original neck of lid had been placed there are glass dots or tabs to help hold in place. Raised ornate scroll detail on glass jar. A charming, lovely piece--and with it's alternative lid, a bit of a post-modern, boho chic, hybrid look. Excellent Used Condition, no chips, cracks or crazing.
