Description: Antique Edme Samson Figures with bird & animals These great pieces are in the Derby style but are most likely by Samson. Edme Samson began his career in the 1830's in Paris and was a famous Copyist of Museum Quality items. His works have since become collectible in their own right. Stunningly executed with a Porcelaneous body and exceptional detail. Woman is incised "117 2", man is incised "97 6". Derby mark to back of each. Approx 10"H X 6"W. Condition: Chips to flowers and bocage, restoration to man's hand broken finger on woman, flaking paint on woman's skirt, otherwise minor imperfections to be expected.
