Description: This extremely rare radio is in excellent restored condition! It is the only radio model of this Los Angeles manufacturer that I could find anywhere. It is believed to be from 1935 and the label on the chassis is dated 10/17/1934. The solid wood cabinet with only the front veneered is a standout and the woodgrains are particularly pleasing. A “miniature” Art Deco skyscraper design of the tombstone radios of the era, it is a four tube "TRF" chassis, and not the more "modern" superheterodyne. An AM radio, it is also equipped with a bass/treble tone control for your listening preferences. It sounds great too, with good sensitivity and selectivity. Despite only four tubes, it has good reception using an external 10 ft. antenna (provided). Of course, as with all the radios I restore, it has been gone over with the utmost attention to detail. Please check the reviews on other radios I have restored and sold. This radio rarely comes up for sale, especially in this complete of restoration and condition. The cabinet had already been restored when I found it. I completely disassembled and cleaned it. It was nourished and rejuvenated, and waxed twice with a quality carnauba wax. The dial is in very good condition with crisp and clear graphics that are nicely lighted. The brass bezel and “Falcon” badge were lightly polished. The original knobs have been polished and are in excellent condition with the original felt pads between them and the cabinet. The grill cloth appears original and has had a quality repair. The power cord has been replaced with a cloth covered wire that is modern, yet looks like the original. Felt pads were added to the bottom to protect your furniture. The photos speak for themselves as to how attractive this radio displays and the commanding presence it has. Electronically, the chassis was restored, cleaned, and serviced, with all paper/wax and electrolytic capacitors replaced. Tubes and resistors were tested and replaced as needed. All controls and contacts were detail cleaned and lubricated. Wiring and other components were replaced as needed. The radio was peaked and tuned for optimal reception and quality of sound using the 10-foot external antenna (provided). I also included an additional antenna wire for greater reception if needed. This charming vintage radio would be very enjoyable in a darkened room listening to the music or a story of yesteryear or as background while enjoying a good book. It is a must for the collector and would make an unusual and interesting gift. Just imagine all the news of the world, music, and stories this little gem has broadcast! Now 90 years old and newly restored inside and out, it will continue to provide many more years of reliable enjoyment if well cared for. Dimensions: 11x10x6". This radio will be packaged very carefully for shipment and may be double boxed if needed to best protect it. It will have packing materials placed between the chassis/tubes and cabinet to reduce the risk of tube displacement or damage during shipment. The buyer must remove those materials prior to use. The seller will instruct the buyer on how to accomplish this after the radio has shipped. IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT THIS AND ALL OLD RADIOS BE UNPLUGGED BETWEEN USING AS A PRECAUTION. Buyers should note that tube AM & SW radio reception can often be very negatively affected by florescent, LED and other lights, even those in another room. It can also be affected by FAX machines and other devices. If you are having reception interference, try turning off those devices and check for improvement. Note: Tube radios consist of a variety of vacuum tubes, capacitors, resistors and other electronic components. This radio has been disassembled, cleaned, and components tested. All non-functioning or suspect components were replaced. Vacuum tubes are similar to light bulbs in that an interior filament heats up inside the vacuum tube. When the filament burns out, the tube will need to be replaced. The tubes in this radio are in good working order. The seller cannot guarantee the length of time before a tube will need to be replaced. The longevity of the tube and its filaments is related to the length of time the radio is operated and the frequency of turning the radio power on and off.
