The bad: marble is cracked on the base, 3 of the 4 legs have broken off, the clock face (under the glass) has a hairline crack, and the back piece has snapped off. The Good: All pieces are still available and broken fairly cleanly- so repairing and restoring it to be like new should be easy if done with care! The clock is still functional and working, with pendulum/weight and key included. I think you'll agree, damages aside, this rare work of art is absolutely stunning. Everything about it exudes classical elegance. Originating from 18th century France, this mechanical mantel clock features a bronze/brass classical lady (Mary?!) holding rosary beads in an open hand.
