This item, for the era that it came from and its purpose ( evening wear) it has been well cared for and even though it is a used item it is in excellent condition. This piece came from a great niece of the former owner. There are no store tags, so she believed that it was tailored made for her uncle. As the photos will show, it is a deep red ( blood color) velvet and its lining is satin as well satin lapels and trim, and lined in black satin. Closes with one button at the waist. The sleeves end in satin cuffs. There is one chest pocket and 2 hip level pockets, that too are lined with satin. This jacket fits a man about 6'1"" around 200 pounds, neckline to shoulder is about 9 inches, shoulder to end of sleeve 25 inches in length, and total length is 35 inches.A great gift idea to give to one who would truly appreciate this antique dinner jacket and even wear on special occasions.Maybe even a great gift for an eccentric family member.
