Description: I believe this item to be the "Universal Hand Drill Press No20" from Millers Falls Mass.It appears to be missing the bottom "work plate" or "platten", but the clamp it inserts into is there. There is an old rough weld on the bottom "bench clamp" portion that seems rugged and does not affect clamping action.There is also a crack I had not noticed before on the upper clamp piece for the drill, that would need a weld fix. Aside from these issues, this somewhat scarce piece is in good shape with some model (?) hand drill in placeand all gears mesh smoothly, and pieces adjust as they are designed. This was found in an ancient building thathoused numerous auto repair shops over the last 100+ years and has not been cleaned or monkey'd with. It still has a lot of original black paint and only minor surface rust, and I think this would be a worthy restoration projectand look great in any tool collection.The mounting steel rod is 24" and the assembly weighs 18 lbs.The ship weight will be 21 lbs, and drill crank handle removed and packed in padding.
