Description: Sorry table is in storage, and it is too heavy for me to lift into position to determine exact height. It and it's parts can be wheeled all the way out to your pick-up truck. This should not be transported on its edge vertically because the delicate rope trim is only connected by nails. It is 4 feet across and easily seats 4 people. At times I have used the modern MDF board (29" wide x 48" long) with a tablecloth as a leaf to add 2-4 more people. It has a turnbuckle to bring the top together. The base comes together with original gate hooks. Some photos show the base with a gap because the hooks were not connected. You may have to supply a few screws to secure base to top (less than 6). Two strong and careful people required, this is solid wood. The center support is there when you stretch the table out for the leaf but is otherwise hidden in the base. The small original casters still work. If you don't plan on moving the table much you might want to set those on sliders or coasters to distribute the weight over say a soft vinyl floor. These have small wooden casters because most dining room floors back then were hardwood. The top is oak veneer, and I believe the band around it is tiger oak veneer with a rope trim. I completely stripped and refinished this in the 1980s. With proper care this can last another 3 generations. Bring several blankets or sleeping bag to cushion it during transport. Never stand it on its edge on a hard surface. It can be laid flat upside down on blanket then other components laid on top. Measure your vehicle before buying. I presently have 4 chairs for sale from the same period. If you don't want it after close inspection then we can simply cancel the purchase. Be prepared to pick up within a week of purchase.
