Description: Lovely antique 18th century French prayer book, "Instructions et prieres, tirées de l'Ecriture & des ss. Pères, contenant différents exercices d'une vraie & solide piété, & nommément ceux qui peuvent servir à l'Auguste Devotion de l'Adoration Perpétuelle du très-saint Sacrement de l'autel." The book is overall in very good condition with just some minor signs of wear and age. It is circa sometime around 1786. There is no publishing date on the title page, but the calendar of holy days at the start of the book begins with that year. The red leather covers only have some light scuffing and wear. The binding is good and sound. All of the page edges are gilt. The interior is lightly toned from age with a few pages with some minor staining. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of minor imperfection such as a tiny chip or tear, light bit of foxing or grubbiness, minor wrinkle, creased page corner, etc. Generally though, it's a a nice copy. The book measures approximately 6 3/4 inches by 4 inches. The text is in French. Please look at all the photos to further note the condition.
