Description: By 1910, tastes were changing after 30 years of what's considered the Brilliant Period of American cut glass. Patterns exhibiting a more naturalistic design proved popular and less costly to produce. Some companies designed very high-end intaglio carvings of distinctive flower types. Others chose more straightforward production methods for improved affordability. The bowl offered in this listing is not just any piece from the cut glass spectrum but a high-quality one from the more affordable end. The cutting workmanship is top-notch, as is the quality of the metal used. Most of the decoration on the bowl is done in the Harvard pattern, resembling the caning seen on wicker chairs. The 6-point star added to the center of the daisy is a unique feature seen by only a few companies, such as Meriden, Fry, Bergen, and Hunt cut glass companies. This 8-inch wide and 4-inch tall bowl is in excellent condition. In such a busy pattern, I may have missed a nick or two, which would not be surprising given it is over 110 years old. Please review the pictures and ask ay questions you might have.(3409)
