C.F.W. Knopf was one of the most interesting and finest old German masters. His work sometimes inspired and has similarities with French contemporaries like Etienne Pajeot and Nicolas Maire. This is a very beautiful example made from a superior choice of pernambuco, suitable for a fine violist. It is in excellent state of preservation, ready to play. The stick is superb red brown pernambuco, octagonal, strong with excellent flexibility, solo level sound and handling. The frog and button are ebony with silver mountings. The length of the stick is 73.25 cm and the weight of the bow is 69 g.
