Description: 4- 1937 original 35mm kodachrome slides This collection was taken by professional photographer Hans Reinhardt Three images are backstage photos during the shoot of Good Earth Movie with star of movie Louise Rainer, and 2 slides titled Jap Dancers. The main image is taken on Broadway New York City with the Good Earth movie release. Many old corporate signs seen like Camel, Coca Cola, Planters Peanuts, Chevrolet, Chanel, Sunkist, Maxwell House, Minskys, Automat, more. This is a long exposure taken at night with very little motion blur on old vehicles and trains. The actual image is sharper then the scan, I use a low quality scanner that blows out dark contrasts. This is the earliest generation of Kodachrome with the blue border from 1935, red borders were released in 1939. The Good Earth movie released in 1937 with interesting timing during the Great Depression in USA. The film is about a previous famine in China showing some controversial topics with slavery and what takes place in a famine. A couple months after the release of this blockbuster movie, China was attacked in Nanjing. Prior to this attack, China's economy was flourishing rapidly but the Nanjing attack spiraled the economy down leading to another famine in decades to come. Do you think it was a planned prediction as most wars have hidden motives and cause from what is documented.
